Our Mini Golf Story

Growing up in rural upstate New York, I played outdoors as much as possible when the temperature permitted. I say temperature as we had snow normally by the end of November and I can recall many spring Little League baseball practices cancelled in April due to the snowstorms. As long as it was not bitterly cold and for some reason bitterly cold was defined as not below 18 degrees with the wind chill, I was outside with my friends playing. We would play football, soccer, basketball, baseball, ski and sled. We would also when the snow as gone and the ground thawed play mini golf. This was not mini golf where you went to a roadside mini golf and received a golf club and golf ball but backyard mini golf where we made up the course. Our backyards consisted of trees, grass, hills and woods; lots of woods because woods is what comprises rural upstate New York.

About putt putt golf rentals new jersey image

As kids, we used our imaginations to create holes and obstacles from what was around us. One hole we had to putt around an area where we knew a turtle always would hang out. Another hole was through my Mom's cherished garden. I would hear my mother on occasion comment to my father that the wildlife was eating at the items in the garden and that she wants a better fence around the garden. My father would respond in that calm demeanor of his that there is only so much he can do to keep the wildlife out of the garden. While the wildlife certainly did get into my mom's garden there were times that my friends would make an errant putt through the garden and unfortunately end that plant's growing season.
Our only limits were our imaginations in creating these mini golf courses which entertained us for hours in not just playing them but seeing what we could create from the resources around us. For example, that wheel barrow that we had for work around our house became an obstacle. Rakes, shovels, tree branches and all sorts of odd shapes of rocks made for some of the most challenging miniature golf course holes and we loved them all.
There were some summers that my family would drive from rural upstate New York to Virgina Beach, Virgina. I am sure that being the youngest of the children I was not a joy to be in a car for that long of period with my two sisters and parents. When we did arrive in Virgina Beach, my parents would take us to Around the World Mini Golf. That course was like a mini golf mecca to me. While I did not know it then, my experiences with my friends and those family summer trips to that course would later serve me in a professional journey in providing authentic miniature golf for events.
My friends and I absolutely loved the joy of creating a mini golf hole that was entertaining and challenging. We did not call it challenging as kids but we called it "No Way anyone will get a hole in one on this". When one of us did get a hole in one on one of our crazy holes, that friend would jump for joy and yell I beat your crazy hole. We would all laugh together and for the rest of the summer that memory would be repeated to all of us by the friend who did get that hole in one. As I write this, I can still see the crazy holes that we created and then recreated as the summer went on.
Fast forward some 29 years later to the early spring of 2010 and a client who we had provided a variety of arcade game & casino rentals for a few years asked if we could create a unique (9) hole mini golf activity for their annual company picnic. While I had certainly played on mini golf courses since my time in upstate New York and at times seeked them out when I was traveling on business, I had not given it much thought to create such a product in the event company that I owned. After performing a tremendous amount of research to discover what was in the event marketplace, we agreed in the middle of June to proceed with this endeavor.
What I discovered in the research that my company performed is that overwhelmingly the majority of event mini golf courses that were provided for events were simple, boring and did not create any memories for the individuals who played them. Before even conceptualizing the holes, I thought back to my youth and the feelings my friends and my family had when I played mini golf with them. There was a huge gap between my mini golf experiences and what was available in the event marketplace.
I understood as an event company, budgets would not permit replicating mini golf courses that we play at theme parks, resorts towns and boardwalks. Furthermore, these courses would not be financially and logistically feasible in the event space. Thus, our objective became creating authentic mini golf and putt putt rental courses that could replicate the memorable experiences that these iconic places provide us that were also economically & logistically feasible for the event space.

Our History Our history below marks just a few of the highlights the journey that we have taken with creating & producing authentic mini golf & putt putt experiences throughout the United States since 2010.

September 2025 A mixture of mini golf & putt putt experiences!

A mixture of mini golf & putt putt experiences with several highlighted brands were installed this month. We started with a custom three hole putt putt experience spelling out the letters P I F for the PitCCh In Foundation which is CC Sabathia's foundation.

Our Putt Putt Experience were used this month for an opening night gala reception at the Two Rivers Theater in Red Bank, New Jersey celebrating the opening night of the play Murder on the Links. For this event, our course designers created a putt putt hole that represented a crime scene.

Another custom putt putt experience which had to be put together in a matter of less than two weeks was a custom 9 hole on the rooftop of The Peninsula Hotel in New York City. This putt putt brand activation was for Bushmills Scotch, Dobel Tequila and the Peninsula Hotel. Custom obstacles and props that were created included a whiskey barrell to putt into, Agave plants to putt around, hexagon rocks to putt around and clear cylinders with branded golf balls to putt around.

We traveled to southern California for the first of 5 brand putt putt activations for the American Heart Association. This custom designed three hole putt putt experience was at the Rose Bowl and featured our putt putt red turf.

Several mini golf courses were designed for corporate events for NBC Universal and SHI International tying in the Ryder Cup.

August 2025 Trade Show at Mariott Marquis, Private Parties, and Custom Courses!

The month started with a three hole custom putt putt experience designed for a trade show booth at the Marriott Marquis.

We provided both our mini golf & putt putt experiences to several private events in August celebrating parties at the Jersey shore, a 60th birthday party a family reunion and a high school graduation. At the conclusion of the month, our staff travelled back to Florida to setup a custom 9 hole mini golf experience for the NASCAR Coke 400 race at Daytona International Speedway.

For this course we provided several holes with red turf and a few of these holes had Coke 400 turf logos on them. Instead of sand & rock traps, our traps were lined with Coke bottles as well as Coke bottles to putt through. Based on the success at the NASCAR Chicago Street Race, another hole with the Goodyear tire to putt through was created as well as the hole with steep inclines and declines simulating a turn on a NASCAR Track.

July 2025 NASCAR, Phillies, University of Maryland, and Fox Television!

We began the month of July in the city of Chicago over Independence weekend with a custom designed 9 hole mini golf experience for NASCAR for the NASCAR Chicago Street Race. This custom designed course unveiled the beginning of new turf colors in our mini golf experience. For NASCAR, we designed several holes that had grey turf which looked like NASCAR tracks. Amongst the unique obstacles and props custom designed for this experience were hanging authentic Chicago Hot Dogs, a Goodyear Tire to putt through, vintage miniature NASCAR cars to putt around which were placed in traps and a hole that had two steep inclines & declines representing turns on a NASCAR track.

From Chicago, our experienced staff of course designers and installers travelled to Philadelphia for a private event for the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. The Philadelphia Phillies auctioned off to raise funds to a local charity a custom designed 9 hole mini golf experience for the lucky winner to play with two of the Phillies players. For this event, we unveiled more of our new color turf options with 6 of the 9 holes having red turf matching the Phillies colors. The course was highlighted with traps that had baseballs in them to putt around, Herr's Potato Chips dangling down to putt through and our custom designed Love Sign prominently displaying on the course.

The University of Maryland Football team hired us to create a 9 hole custom mini golf experience for the 2025 football team during an afternoon break from one summer practice. This course also offered 6 holes with our new red turf celebrating one of the University of Maryland colors. For this experience we had footballs in the traps for the players to putt around along with some nautical features.

The month of July also saw the 1st installations arrive at Fox television stations around the country. We were contracted starting in late May to create 51 (3) hole putt putt courses spelling out the letters F O X. This custom designed putt putt sale had branded rails on each hole as well as specific color of turf that was color matched. Each component of this was manufactured in the United States and all raw materials were sourced from US suppliers.

June 2025 Back to Denver Airport and much more!

This month began with the opening of our custom designed 9 hole mini golf experience at Denver International Airport. Over the course of June over 5,000 travelers experienced a uniquely designed course that both entertained and relaxed them while they were waited for their flights.

To celebrate Father's Day a real estate company that owns several prominent NYC properties contracted with WOW Entertainment to provide custom designed mini golf holes to their buildings. Each property had to have a site inspection performed as well as detailed logistics thought through as these events would all be happening on the same day and times and there were 7 of them. The experiences ranged from one hole to 6 holes placed in lobbies and on certain floors of the properties. One of our unique one hole designs was a hole in the lobby with a bank shot placed in front of the steps. These creative course designs contributed according to the real estate company to one of their most engaging tenant events that they had ever provided.

A custom designed 9 hole putt putt experience which had one of our new color turf offerings was installed in Orlando, Florida for a conference. Each hole for this design was custom designed due to space limitations and each hole was done with blue turf highlighted one of the colors of the conference.

Back home in New Jersey, we had the fortunate opportunity to be a vendor to one of our most unique installations for the Carlstadt Street Fair where we install 18 custom designed putt putt holes in the Carlstadt Library. 9 holes are placed on the main floor and 9 holes are placed in the bottom floor. Holes are designed so they can fit between the book shelves on the main floor as well as in the open areas of both the main floor and bottom floor. Just one of the highlights of this course design was our hanging miniature book obstacle on both floors where participants had to putt through the miniature books. Attendance records at the Library were broken on this day compared to past year's as a result of the putt putt experience.

May 2025 As the weather got warmer we hosted a variety of events!

As the weather got warmer, both our mini golf & putt putt experiences got selected for a variety of events. The month of May had us travel as far north as Maine and as far south as Virginia. In between we were in Westchester County of New York for a 9 hole mini golf activation for Mastercard and a custom designed 6 hole putt putt experience for Netflix in New York City.

The Netflix Putt Putt experience was custom designed around three Netflix shows. Obstacles and individual holes were created around Dr. Seuss, Geek Girl and Wednesday shows. Unique props were made that were placed on the individual holes highlighted the theme of each show. While the event was both a day for kids and adults, the adults could not stop playing the custom putt putt course.

The trip to Maine was a 9 hole custom mini golf experience with a nautical theme to raise to benefit the MaineHealth Barbara Bush Children's Hospital. This event was very well attended and consisted nautical themed events such as Lighthouse to putt under, a Buoy, Lobster traps, traps with rocks with play Lobsters in them and several uniquely designed holes with uneven terrains.
